Stagnant Water

Oh, how we love to pray this prayer...

"Lord, please remove all these obstacles from my path. 

Lord oh how I would love to finally have a smooth and carefree life. 

Thank you, Jesus...AMEN!"

We daydream of a life that is free from pain, conflicts, rejection, disappointments and struggles. 

That would be heaven on earth.

Yes, Heaven on Earth is not how God has us live. 

If we had that right now, what would we have to look forward to?

A life free from the struggles in life is like a body of water that is closed off. 

A body of water that is 100% still becomes stagnant. 

The only things that grow in stagnant water are bacteria, disease and mosquitoes.

God does not call us to live stagnant lives. 

He calls us to live a life drinking in the flowing living water. 

The living water flows from Jesus and Him alone. 

Jesus never lived a stagnant life. 

His life was never carefree and smooth. 

So why would our lives be any different.

Oh, the mountain tops in life are amazing but it is in the valley that we grow. 

The valley has the pools of life-giving water that flow down from the mountain top. 

Embrace the struggle of the incline up out of the valley and know that Jesus always has His hand out for us take. 

To help us climb in the really steep spots. 

Enjoy the valley but don't stay there seeking a smooth carefree life. 

Because only stagnant water lives in that carefree life.

John 4:14 NLV 14 But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”
